Anyone who's seen the pivotal film, AKIRA, will recognize this immediately. Kaneda's Motorcycle is a key visual/minor character in the story and is a beautifully designed conceptual machine that has inspired both animators and custom bike builders the world over.
To pay homage to the iconic vehicle, I pulled from several official sources of the original concept designs, but found they didn't cover the complexity of the cycle. So, I did some digging and found a tattered old magazine from 1985 with Katushiro Otomo's first accepted sketches for the concept. However, it was in it rough shape. I scanned the pages in and redrew every single line and logo on the entire chassis. A labor of love for an inspiring work of art.
